ALPHA DELTA NU
To promote scholarship and academic excellence in the profession of nursing, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN), has established the Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society and has made provisions for the establishment of Institutional Honor Society Chapters.
The objective of the OADN Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society shall be to recognize the academic excellence of students in the study of Associate Degree Nursing. The society shall encourage the pursuit of advance degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility. Additionally, the society shall participate in the recruitment of qualified individuals into the profession of nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing students who are enrolled in their second semester of the program are invited to apply if all required qualifications are met.
ALPHA GAMMA SIGMA (AGS)
Alpha Gamma Sigma is the statewide California Community College scholastic honor society. The purpose of Chapter Theta at Santa Rosa Junior College is to promote and recognize scholarship, to develop programs of cultural and social enrichment, to promote service to the College and to the community, and to emphasize the development of leadership, character, and judgment.
LAMBDA NU (LN)
Lambda Nu (LN) is a national honor society for the radiologic and imaging sciences.
The mission of the California Epsilon Delta Pi chapter of Lambda Nu chartered in 2016, is to:
- Foster academic scholarship at the highest academic
- Promote research and investigation in the radiologic and imaging sciences;
- Recognize exemplary scholarship.
Lambda Nu’s name is derived from the lower case Greek characters in the formula ln, which represents the physics of the inverse relationship between wavelength and frequency an essential parameter across the diversity of modalities comprising the professions. Lambda Nu uses the upper case Greek characters Lambda and Nu to represent the inverse relationship and delicate balance required between the art and the science inherent in the radiologic and imaging sciences.
Membership in the California Epsilon Delta Pi chapter of Lambda Nu is limited to full-time Santa Rosa Junior College radiologic technology students who have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher after one full semester in the radiologic technology program.
NATIONAL SOCIETY OF LEADERSHIP AND SUCCESS (NSLS)
The National Society of Leadership (NSLS) and Success is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. Students of the NSLS chapter at SRJC Petaluma are selected for membership based on academic standing, leadership potential, and leadership achievement. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. Membership is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, discounts on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, insurance and much more. Inducted members complete a leadership program consisting of the Orientation, a Leadership Training Day, three Speaker Broadcasts, three Success Networking Team meetings, and an Induction Ceremony where they receive their Certificate of Leadership Training. PHI THETA KAPPA (PTK)
Phi Theta Kappa is an internationally renowned two-year college honor society. The mission of the Beta Gamma Delta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, chartered in 1995, is to recognize, support, promote, and reward those students who maintain a standard of academic excellence.
The goals of Phi Theta Kappa are to support any student who is trying to achieve academic excellence, to encourage all students to set high standards for themselves, to provide a forum in which those students may find a sense of community, to bring a body of talent and skill to the task of improving our larger community and, to represent Santa Rosa Junior College to the best of students’ ability by upholding the Phi Theta Kappa hallmarks of “Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship, and Service.” A student must have a 3.5 GPA in order to be inducted. Inquiries pertaining to either society should be made at the Student Affairs Office.
